After the initial gains weakened, the benchmarks moved into negative territory later on Monday. The S & P BSE Sensex was down 41 points at 150,800 or 0.3 percent. The index previously reached a high of 42,273.87.
Accordingly, the Nifty50 from NSE was listed at 12,300, which corresponds to a minus of 48 points or 0.39 percent. The index reached a record high of 12,430.50 in opening transactions.
Among the individual stocks, Power Grid, Asian Paints and ITC were the top winners of Sensex’s 30-share package, while TCS, Reliance Industries (RIL) and Bajaj Auto were the biggest losers.
The shares of the second rung were also traded less. The S & P BSE MidCap Index was 15,695 points, up 14 points or 0.09 percent, the S & P BSE SmallCap Index was only 1 point or 0.01 percent at 14,707 points.
