Manish Sisodia bio

Manish Sisodia, Deputy Cheif Minister of Delhi, is the senior chairman of the Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) and a member of the Political Affairs Committee. He works in the areas of education, finance, land use planning, vigilance, services, women’s and children’s development, art, culture and languages. Sisodia also works in all other departments too. He is a all rounder. The AAP leader gained a lead of 28,761 votes in last elections. He was elected as the MLA. He won from the Patparganj constituency in East Delhi in the 2015 elections.

Sisodia was a journalist for Zee News and All India Radio, after which he was active in the struggle to pass the law on the right to information and played a key role in laying the foundation stone for the Jan Lokpal movement. He is one of the oldest assosciates of Arvind Kejriwal. He worked with him in AAP to raise awareness of and lead Mohalla Sabhasin Delhi.

His tenure as Minister of Education, the infrastructure and quality of teaching at state schools in Delhi has changed fundamentally. As Minister of Finance, Sisodia doubled the budget for education to almost 25% of the total national budget. This was a historic step. The comprehensive reform process in public education has started. Sisodia has made a name for itself across the country as one of the government’s best educational administrators and educators.
