About SSC:

In its report (1967-68), Parliament’s estimation committee recommended the establishment of a service selection committee (SSC) to conduct exams for placement in lower categories of jobs.

As a result, an examination wing was initially provisionally added to the secretarial school, which was later renamed the Institute for Secretarial Training and Management (ISTM).
